Erasmus Mobility calls for applications are published every year by the University’s Erasmus+ and International Mobility Office.

The programmes in which students can participate differ according to the activities to be undertaken:

• Erasmus+ Study: the mobility period takes place at a foreign university with which the University of Naples Federico II has a partnership agreement, and involves attending university courses and passing the relevant exams (and the award of the corresponding credits)
• Erasmus+ Traineeship: the mobility period takes place at a public or private organisation active in the labour market or in the fields of education, training and research, and involves a postgraduate work placement.
• Erasmus Italiano: the mobility period takes place at a university within Italy that has a partnership agreement with the University of Federico II, and involves attending university courses and passing the relevant exams (award of the corresponding CFU credits)

Other opportunities for mobility periods in Italy or abroad made available by the University are regularly announced in the ‘News’ section of the website.

The allocation of Erasmus grants is managed by the Erasmus Committee of the Department of Molecular Medicine and Medical Biotechnology and by the agreement coordinators.

Under the Erasmus+ Programme, students may receive the Erasmus grant on multiple occasions for a maximum of 12 months per cycle of study, regardless of the number and type of mobility periods (for study and/or placement purposes)

EXAMPLES:

6 months of Erasmus Study + 6 months of Erasmus Traineeship

9 months of Erasmus Study + 3 months of Erasmus Traineeship

A cycle of study refers to:

Cycle I = Bachelor’s degree (EQF level 6)

Cycle II = Master’s degree (EQF level 7)

How to apply

The call for applications for Erasmus+ Study mobility is published by the University’s Erasmus+ and International Mobility Office in the first term of each year.

All students who are duly enrolled (and who have paid their fees at the time of application) on the Medical Biotechnology degree programme are eligible to apply.

Students must choose from the available destinations for their degree programme, taking into account the language requirements set by the foreign universities and ensuring that the courses offered by the foreign university are compatible with those in their own study plan.

We recommend consulting the websites of the foreign universities to carry out a preliminary check before selecting potential destinations.

Please note that the approval of Learning Agreements specifying the courses to be taken at foreign universities is always subject to review by the Department’s Erasmus Coordinator, Prof. Gerolama Condorelli.

The application process is conducted online. Students can complete the application form by logging in with their institutional credentials to the University’s dedicated platform at https://mobility.unina.it

Before the mobility

Once a student has been selected and has accepted the Erasmus grant, they must upload the following documents to the University’s platform https://mobility.unina.it/Root.do  before departure:

• Learning Agreement: the Learning Agreement is completed online. Guidance is available on the University website: https://www.unina.it/didattica/opportunita-studenti/erasmus/programma  
• A copy of the application form, or a letter of acceptance from the host university, or a self-declaration regarding the application form;
• A copy of the language proficiency certificate or language test results (if required); Please be sure to check—including by visiting the websites of the host universities—that you meet the language requirements
• Residence permit (for international students only).

Once all documents have been uploaded correctly, the Erasmus+ and International Mobility Office will verify the documentation and prepare the Financial Agreement for you to sign; on the University’s website, the Erasmus+ and International Mobility Office will publish the relevant notices and the guide for signing the Erasmus Agreement.

During the mobility period

Upon arrival at the host university, the student must download the Certificate of Attendance from the University’s Erasmus+ Forms page (https://www.unina.it/modulistica/ufficio-erasmus-mobilita-internazionale ), and have it completed, signed and stamped by the staff at the host university’s Erasmus Office, including the date of arrival.

Finally, you will need to upload the Certificate of Attendance to the ‘International Mobility Attachments’ section on the https://mobility.unina.it platform

After the mobility period

Once the mobility period has ended, the student must:

• complete the Certificate of Attendance. This must be completed, signed and stamped by the partner university with the end date of the activity/stay, and must be uploaded to the ‘International Mobility Attachments’ section on the https://mobility.unina.it platform within 7 days of the end of the Erasmus+ study period.
• upload the final Learning Agreement, complete with all signatures, to the platform
• upload the Transcript of Records. This is sent by the host university after the student has returned from their mobility period. Once the Transcript of Records has been received, the student must upload it to the platform and forward it by email to the Erasmus+ administrative contact in their department.

To validate Erasmus exams, it is mandatory to send the Transcript of records also to Professor Gerolama Condorelli (gerolama.condorelli@unina.it) putting in c.c. the administrative contact Francesca Paola Liberti (francescapaola.liberti@unina.it).

Erasmus+ Traineeship

How to apply

The call for applications for the Erasmus+ Traineeship mobility programme is published by the University’s Erasmus+ and International Mobility Office in the first semester of each year.

All students who are duly enrolled (and who have paid their fees at the time of application) on the Medical Biotechnology degree programme are eligible to apply.

Students must have a command of English or another working language at a level of at least B1 to carry out the activities.

As this is a postgraduate traineeship opportunity, students must have obtained their final degree before departure. 

Students must identify the host organisation independently; this may include, by way of example:

• a public or private organisation active in the labour market or in the sectors of education, training and youth; 
• a public body at local, regional or national level;
• a social partner or other representative of the world of work, including chambers of commerce, craft or professional bodies and trade unions;
• a research institute;
• a foundation;
• a non-profit organisation, an association or an NGO;
• a body providing career guidance, career counselling and information services;
• a higher education institution or university.

We recommend consulting the websites www.erasmusintern.org  and http://www.eaecnet.com  or using other resources or to use other channels such as social media or intermediary agencies to find an organisation willing to host students through an Erasmus+ Traineeship.

Please note that the approval of training agreements (Learning Agreement for Traineeship), setting out the details of the projects and learning objectives, is always subject to verification by the Department’s Erasmus Coordinator, Prof. Gerolama Condorelli.

Before the mobility period

All students are required to complete the Learning Agreement for Traineeship (LAT), a work/traineeship plan agreed with the host organisation.

The LAT is available on the University’s website: https://www.unina.it/didattica/opportunita-studenti/erasmus/programma alla, under the ‘Mobility for Traineeships’ section in ‘Forms’

After the mobility period

At the end of the traineeship period, the host organisation must issue the student with a duly signed certificate detailing the results achieved (Traineeship Certificate): students enrolled on a three-year or master’s degree programme must upload the Traineeship Certificate to https://mobility.unina.it  and forward it to the Erasmus Coordinator of their Department/degree.

Italian Erasmus

How to apply

Students who are duly enrolled (and have paid their fees at the time of application) on the Medical Biotechnology degree programme and who have declared an ISEE value not exceeding €36,000.00 for the previous year are eligible to apply.

We recommend consulting the websites of the foreign universities to carry out a preliminary check of the possible courses and thesis preparation activities to be undertaken, equivalent to 12 CFU.

Students can go to Italian Erasmus to complete their internship/thesis work too.
