Teaching courses may be mono-disciplinary or integrated, that is consisting of two or more modules that deal with related and complementary issues, usually held by different teachers. Each course or module can include class activities and/or practical and laboratorial activities. Concerning the role played in study plan, courses are divided into:
Fundamental course - Fundamental courses form the basis of the common course and account for most of the study plan (135 credits). They are required courses and are attended by all students regardless of the curriculum chosen. In this academic year, the basic courses proceed on two separate channels for each year of the course. Students are divided in two groups based on the serial number (group I odd matriculation numbers, group II the even ones).
Curricular courses - The curricular courses are specific to the different curricula and differentiate the paths, deepening chosen cultural area’s characterising subjects. In the study plan, there are two areas of about ten CFU, one in the second semester of the second year and one in the first semester of the third year. Using these spaces, students take two or three exams that characterise the chosen Curriculum. The curricular courses provide a unique channel for all students.
Optional courses - The optional courses allow insight into specific content selected by the student. The curriculum includes courses chosen by the student for a total of 15 credits. The student can use the credits for courses on various topics considered relevant to their professional training. The 15 credits may be obtained by choosing to attend one or more teachings among those made available by the program, or between other active courses at the University.
Additional and recovery courses – They are courses occasionally required in order to provide support to students in the form of additional knowledge or to respond to needs that arise from time to time.
